Being A Groupie And What Does It Mean In 2023

Hey Groupies,

Our first blog! AHHH

It felt fitting to start this blog by explaining why we called it “Your Favorite Groupies”. We truly believe in the incredible power of music. As passionate groupies, we aim to bring the ultimate party vibes to every show we attend. Our mission is to celebrate the groupie spirit, share epic concert tales, and prove that the love for music is an infectious, wild ride that deserves its own spotlight!

Being a groupie nowadays consists of being fierce, and music-loving with an unshakable devotion to our favorite artists or bands. We are technically the ultimate hype team if you think about it, bringing contagious energy to concerts and embodying the spirit of the music we adore. We dance like nobody's watching and sing like nobody's listening (at least we hope). Have you ever considered that we are music's most dedicated ambassadors? Spreading the infectious vibes everywhere we go for artists we love. Going from being a stranger to creating newfound friendships with others like you. So, whether it's front row at a stadium show or jamming in our room with headphones on, being a groupie means we bring the party wherever we roam, celebrating the magic of music with unapologetic enthusiasm and undying love for the artists who set our souls on fire and sometimes make life a little bit more bearing.

We can’t deny the fun of what it looks like to embody being a groupie. Just think about Pamela Des Barres’s memoir “I’m with the Band”. I’ve only read parts but damn must have been a ride to experience an inch of what she has. Imagine being a muse of a famous song that has been heard for ages (aka Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin”).

A true icon for women and a trailblazer in a male-dominated scene. She changed the social norms of what it meant to be a passionate music fan. She threw out the traditional norms and asserted that women could embrace their sexuality, likes, and dislikes that came with music. In her famous words that she told in an interview with NME in 2018. “Groupie is just another word for love and love of music and musicians.”

We hope you stick around and have fun with us not only here but throughout our other socials too and become a certified groupie, see you in the pit!

All our love,

Your Favorite Groupies 🍒
